Relay.app → Make migration

Rebuild Relay workflows as Make scenarios with a map.

Relay Rescue reads a Relay workspace export locally, inventories its automation building blocks, and creates a Make-focused rebuild packet. It helps you understand the work before you recreate modules and connections.

A safer four-step migration.

Preserve the source, translate its structure, and prove each scenario with representative data before switching it on.

  1. Export and preserve

Download the complete Relay workspace archive and keep an untouched copy for reference.

  2. Inventory locally

Use Relay Rescue to identify workflows, sequences, tables, prompts, apps, branches, and missing files.

  3. Build Make scenarios

Use the generated prompt to recreate modules, routes, filters, iterators, data stores, and connections.

  4. Validate operations

Compare outputs, review operation usage, test incomplete data and errors, then schedule the cutover.

What usually maps where.

The right Make modules depend on each integration. Treat these as reconstruction clues, not an automatic conversion.

When Make is a strong destination.

Make is often attractive when visual data mapping and scenario inspection matter to the team doing the migration.

Good reasons to choose Make

  • Your team prefers a visual scenario builder.
  • You need routers, filters, iterators, and aggregators for data-heavy flows.
  • You want a managed platform without operating workflow infrastructure.
  • Your required apps are covered by suitable Make modules or HTTP APIs.

Risks to plan for

  • Operation usage can change substantially after a redesign.
  • Connections must be recreated and checked by an authorized owner.
  • Bundles and array mapping differ from Relay's typed outputs.
  • Approval and long-running wait behavior may need a new design.

Important: Relay exports are not Make blueprints. Relay Rescue gives you a redacted audit and rebuild packet; every scenario still requires configuration and behavioral testing.

Relay to Make questions.

The short answers before you start rebuilding.

Can Make import my Relay workspace ZIP?

No. A Relay workspace export is not a Make blueprint. Relay Rescue extracts a neutral inventory and generates a Make-oriented rebuild plan instead.

Does Relay Rescue send my automations anywhere?

No. The ZIP is processed in the current browser tab. Workspace contents and generated packets are not uploaded.

Will app connections transfer?

No. Destination connections must be authorized again. Confirm the correct account, permissions, region, and owner for every scenario.

How should I estimate Make usage?

Rebuild and test a representative scenario first. Inspect how many modules execute per run, including iterated bundles and error paths, then project from actual run volume.

Turn the export into a Make rebuild plan.

Run the free local audit first. If you want help with destination fit, risk review, and rebuild order, add the optional $99 migration-planning call. The $99 is credited toward an assisted rebuild if you continue.
