Relay.app → Zapier migration
Rebuild Relay automations as Zaps with fewer surprises.
Relay Rescue audits a Relay workspace export inside your browser and creates a Zapier-focused rebuild packet. Use it to find dependencies, paths, waits, approvals, and credential work before recreating each Zap.

A safer four-step migration.
Use the Relay export as evidence, rebuild deliberately, and test each branch before enabling the replacement Zap.
Export and preserve
Download the full Relay workspace archive and keep an untouched original for reference.
Inventory locally
Open the ZIP in Relay Rescue to find workflows, app dependencies, paths, waits, prompts, tables, and gaps.
Recreate as Zaps
Use the generated handoff prompt to build triggers, actions, filters, paths, delays, and connected accounts.
Prove the behavior
Test representative records, alternate paths, missing fields, errors, and task usage before activation.
What usually maps where.
Zap design depends on your apps and plan. This table identifies likely building blocks and the behavior that needs verification.
| Relay concept | Likely Zapier building block | What to verify |
| Workflow trigger | Zap trigger, webhook, or schedule | Polling cadence, sample data, timezone, deduplication, and permissions |
| App action | Zap action or Webhooks by Zapier | Connected account, field mapping, API limits, and action result |
| Single condition | Filter | Stop behavior, empty fields, data type coercion, and combined rules |
| Multiple branches | Paths | Rule order, fallback outcome, branch sequencing, and plan limits |
| Wait or timing | Delay or scheduled follow-up pattern | Delay length, queue behavior, stale data, and replay strategy |
| Relay table | Zapier Tables or an external data store | Record identity, schema, permissions, retention, and task usage |
When Zapier is a strong destination.
Zapier can be a practical fit when the priority is fast managed setup across common business applications.
Good reasons to choose Zapier
- Your team wants a familiar managed automation platform.
- The required apps and actions are already supported.
- Workflows are mostly linear or use manageable filters and paths.
- Non-developers will own day-to-day maintenance.
Risks to plan for
- Task usage can differ from Relay's step accounting.
- Connected accounts and permissions must be recreated.
- Complex branches or reusable sequences may need multiple Zaps.
- Human approvals and long waits may require a redesigned experience.
Important: Relay exports cannot be imported as Zaps. Relay Rescue creates a structured, redacted rebuild packet; the destination still needs manual configuration and testing.
Relay to Zapier questions.
The short answers before you start rebuilding.
Can Zapier import a Relay workspace export?
No. Relay's workspace ZIP is not a Zap template or native Zapier import. Relay Rescue helps translate the archive into an inventory and rebuild plan.
Does Relay Rescue upload the ZIP?
No. Archive inspection and packet generation happen in the current browser tab. Workspace contents are not transmitted.
Do connected app accounts transfer?
No. Reconnect every app inside Zapier and confirm the account owner, scopes, shared access, and test record used for configuration.
How should I compare expected cost?
Rebuild representative workflows and measure the actions that consume tasks for typical and worst-case runs. Include loops, branches, retries, and monthly volume before choosing a plan.

Run the free local audit first. If you want help with destination fit, risk review, and rebuild order, add the optional $99 migration-planning call. The $99 is credited toward an assisted rebuild if you continue.
